Verve Release Challenge Card- B

Good afternoon! I'm back with my second creation for Verve January Release celebration. The second of the five challenges was to create a 3D project in honor of Valentine's Day. Something that could hold a special Valentine's treat.

Oh gosh.

Yeah, I stopped there. Say WHAT?!

All right. Projects... Thinking, thinking... Oh yes! I have some of the Timeless Templates from PTI and maybe, just maybe one of them would work. I opened up the files on my computer until I landed on this one, the Pack a Picnic template. I used the small version to keep things a bit more simple and Valentine's Day treat realistic. I do think this was one of the trickier ones to assemble. It took me a try or two (and a few little made-up changes that we won't tell to anyone) to get it together. Assembling just isn't my gift. Trust me.... My roommate will back me up on this one, lol. But the timeless templates are usually pretty simple. Cut on solid lines, fold on dotted lines... I can do that!

I used all Verve stamps on this project. I pulled out my polka dots from Bountiful Backgrounds to create a stripe around the perimeter. One of the sentiments from a free digital download (get it now on the Verve website!), graces the top of my gift. I did sneak two little hearts on the top from Hearts on Fire.

I'm calling this one done. I think I could fiddle with it and decorate it for a whole other night, but I've just got to move on, lol. Two challenges down, three more to go! Off to go stamp!

Thanks for stopping by!

Anni-Verve-sary Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!

Hopefully you arrived here from Susan's blog on your sight-seeing trip.

Since this is an anniversary celebration of Verve, how could I use any other colors besides an aqua/teal and brown?! I think these colors were definitely meant to go together. I decided in honor of this special celebration, I should create a card and a project. I reached from some matching dp from The Paper Loft and started creating.

I love these little milk cartons and thought they would make a great little get well gift. I plan on sticking a small pack of tissues in one, and maybe some throat/cough drops in the other. Or maybe some hot chocolate or tea for a soothing drink. I guess I'll officially decide when it's time to use it!

But of course, I couldn't have a project without a card. For the accompanying card, I case'd this card by Nichole Heady. I just loved how she attached that die cut shape to the end of the rectangular panel. Had to try it!

And finally, here is the complete project all together! Now, to wait for someone to get sick, lol. I am a huge fan of Verve stamps... They really are my "go to" stamps. They're always so elegant.

Thanks for stopping by! Now it’s time to hop on over to Tricia's Blog for a little more Verve-y goodness.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Friday! I thought the weekend was never going to come. I am sooo looking forward to relaxing and reading this weekend.

Well, I've had this sitting in my room for way too long and it's been horrible keeping it a secret (as evidenced by the little pieces that slipped through the cracks onto the blog). I made my Mother's Day gift about two weekend's ago.

My mom has been talking about getting small card packs or other things for raffles over the next few months. That launched my thoughts into give HER a stack of cards for Mother's Day, but I knew I wanted to package them in a fancy way. A long story made short, I stumbled across "My Timeless Templates" by Papertreyink and decided to give one a try. LOVE THEM! It was so easy and yet so effective! I did have to alter one of the pockets inside because it was too small for typical A2 envelopes.

This also aligns with Verve's project parade for this month which is to make something special for the women in our lives. I used my Verve Mother's Day Plain Jane stamp on the cover as well as the Thanks so Much stamp on the card.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

A Sneaky Peak

I've been working on a little project for a few days... But I can't reveal the whole thing yet! I'm so excited about it, I had to put a little sneak peak on here. I usually stay FAR away from projects, but this one was so easy I couldn't resist!

It might be a little quiet here on my blog for the next week. I fractured my elbow the other day and am finding stamping to be a little tricky at the moment. Enjoy the sneaky peak of my first solo project!!
