Sorry for the long silence. I had meetings, tutoring, or something going on after work every day this week! Crazy! I am so enjoying my Saturday at home, making cards, cookies, and cleaning.
Every Friday, Verve announces their Viva la Verve sketch challenge for the week. This week's twist on the sketch was that we could only use one embellishment. It had to be a simple card.
Well, simple I can do. One embellishment? No prob, Bob. Giant circle in the middle? Houston, we have a problem. Circles and I just don't get along. I don't know what it is about big circles, but they are seriously difficult for me to use! I started out with a completely different color scheme, a bright patterned paper, lots of pink, and well, as you can see below, that didn't stick around very long.
The funny thing is, that once I switched color schemes, the card came together really quickly. It's like the purple just needed to be used! For this sketch, embossing, punches, and glitter didn't count as accessories, so I used my cuttlebug to do some embossing on the purple background. I also used to glitter on the butterfly to give it just a little sparkle. I popped up the entire circle panel on dimensionals. I chose to use brads as my one accessory (we were allowed to use three to fulfill the sketch).
Well, time to get down to some baking business. My church is having a big ministry fair tomorrow and sent around an e-mail asking people to bring homemade cookies tomorrow. I volunteered, so it's off to the kitchen I go.
