A Bridal Shower For My Sister

I think I spent the majority of today cranking this card out. Of course, I made the card, and then multiplied it by 30. :) Thank goodness for roommates to drag into the mass production line!

My sister is getting married in July and I'm throwing her a shower on June 5th. I figured this was the weekend to crank out my invites... And the guest list kept on growing today! Every time I would finish a stack of cards (originally 24), a few more people would be added, hehe.

Sharon's whole wedding is very "nature" themed. It is going to be held outdoors, in the mountains, on top of a mountain. Therefore, I stuck with nature colors and stamps. As soon as I saw Dawn McVey's new stamp Background Basics: Woodgrain, I knew I had to have it! I was so perfect for these cards! I also pulled out that big leaf from Turning a New Leaf, stamped it thirty times, and yes, cut it out 30 times! Sheesh. Why oh why did I create a cutting project when that is my least favorite thing?!

I wanted to keep this card nice and flat so that I wouldn't have to pay extra postage on 30 cards, so a twine bow was the only ribbon. I did pop up the leaf and sentiment on dimensionals for just a little bit of pop.

Oh goodness, does it feel good to have these done! I love how they turned out. The picture really doesn't do them justice. I used up a ton of my dp and twine, so that's going to have to be refilled. But it's always good to finish something off in a great way. I didn't hoard it. :)

Oh, and the Celebrate font is the same font as their wedding invitations! I was so excited I had this stamp set!

Well, that's it out of me for today. The roomie and I are off to grab a movie to watch this evening (maybe The Blind Side. I know, I know. We haven't seen it yet!). And someone nearby is barbecuing and it smells really good... Maybe a grocery store stop is in order...

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Love what you've created, Kristina :D Love the colours (Earth Elements are my faves to work with) and I'm sure your sister will love it too! Wish I had an assembly line to help me with my 350 Mother's Day cards!! Anyone in your household want a quick trip to Vancouver this week LOL!

I loved the Blind Side - only saw it a few weeks ago. Totally fabulous to be reminded of the impact one person can have in the life of another. Movie had me in tears a few times. Hope you enjoy it.

Looking forward to hearing Pastor Vines' sermon some time this week. I'm just loving that man and totally hooked and blessed by him. Thanks again for posting that on your blog. I truly believe it is a link in the chain to the battle I'm facing at our church. Thanks for your kind comment and prayers for me too (((hugs))).

Totally beat after a weekend of cooking for the Kids Shine Youth retreat at the church this weekend. 100 kids plus adults made for a busy two days. Hubby and I are whacked but filled at the same time. Just hope the old feet are talking to us tomorrow LOL!
