Verve Release Challenge Card- C

Ah, I love the first day back in my classroom after a vacation. Sure, it's hard to find motivation to get out of bed when rudely awakened by my alarm clock.... Yeah, I always wish there was one more day of vacation.... But the kids are amazing the first day back! They are always so quiet, nail all daily routines, and work so diligently. They're just as tired as I am! :)

I survived the first day of parent conferences. The nerves were there just a few minutes prior to beginning, but quickly dissipated as soon as that first parent walked in the room. It helped that my first conference today was also a parent that comes into the classroom each week and I talk to all the time.

But, it's still good to be home. And yes, I'm going to be early tonight! :) But before I do go to bed, here is the final card I made for this month's Verve Release Challenges. This third challenge was to create a "V.E.R.V.E." themed card. I combined this challenge with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I hereby admit that this one took a day of thinking before tackling. Darn that circle!

My Verve elements:
  • V- Verse
  • E- Embossing powder (It's hard to see, but it's there on the verse. I stamped in Versamark first and then in Not Quite Navy. It's embossed with clear ep.)
  • R- Ribbon
  • V- Verve stamps (I'm stealing this one from Julee herself!)
I added some pearls to the scalloped circle and two side pieces. I tried to use rhinestones, but I didn't have enough tiny clear ones... Guess I need to order more. OK. I'm off to make dinner and then hit the sack. After watching Heroes, course.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. LOVE what you've done with Karen's sketch!! This is such a wonderful sketch, I hope I have some time to play with it this week. Your colour combo is wonderful. I love the pearls on the little side strips as well as in the scallops and the ribbon is the perfect finishing touch. You have NO problems with circles as far as I'm concerned!!! Glad the first day back went well as did the p/t interviews. Just think, just three more weeks and you'll be on vacation again :D

  2. I think the trick to circles is to find sentiments that fit inside them!! That's what I do!! And then add a flower or snowflake or something... :) Love the pearls and how you almost used each letter in Verve!! LOL I didn't claim V for Verve Stamps because it wasn't an embellishment...but if you and Julee ok it, I will!! LOL I find the first day back hard too, but you're right, the kids are usually ready to be back to routines and something to do....it's full speed ahead now for the Christmas Concert :)
