Mojo Monday

Good evening! This is a little later post than usual due to being interrupted by Chuck. :) I finished this before, but had to take a little break to go watch it with my roomie. We love that show! Plus (on a really fun note!), I just found out that one of my student's parents directed an upcoming episode! I think I squealed when she told me about it, hehe.

Anyways, be amazed. I have completed a Mojo Monday card on Monday! I know! My evening actually began completely devoid of any inspiration. I kept glancing at the few sketches I have saved on my desktop, but nothing was speaking to me. I began lamenting about this to my roommate, whom then suggested that I make her mom a birthday card. Amy's mom is really close to all of us college roommate girls. We love our Mom Cora! Amy suggested the colors blue and white, with tulips (they're Dutch- Cora was actually born in the Netherlands). So, this is what evolved out of that conversation. Inspiration comes in strange ways, sometimes. :)

It ended up being a perfect card for Cora and I can't wait to send it off to her. My next question to Amy was when her mom's birthday is.... The answer? The end of April! lol Well, at least I'm really prepared. :)

I've survived one day of parent conferences with one more to go! Then I get lots of prep time the rest of the week, which is wonderful!!! I'm so excited to actually catch up on things and get ahead on some others. It makes my life just a little bit happier.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Oh, WOW!!!! You nailed this one!!! It doesn't even look like you followed a sketch, but planned this (do you know what I mean? Sometimes I feel I work too hard to make a sketch work). This is perfect!!! Those tulips are divine popped up!! Too bad it wasn't a contest Monday...you'd be up there for sure :) Hmmm, now that you've done it, I may attempt it...all those panels scare me! Oh, lucky you...3 days in your class to prep...that is heaven. I only get that in the summer when I go in a week early to set up and then it feels like you're running on a treadmill for the rest of the year trying to catch up :) For my PTI order, I ordered the Irish Luck, Fabulous Words (or whatever Dawn's set was called), the new Beautiful Blooms 2 with all the dies, the medium scallop die and some H. Shore stitched ribbon...I'm suspiciously hoping it is close to tempting turquoise or cool caribbean...we'll see!! I'm so glad I ordered last night because I remember they sold out of the dies last month. If I'm ordering, I usually do it on the night of the release to get what I want (previous experiences, lessons learned!!). Have a wonderful day tomorrow and the rest of the week...you get my b-day off!!! LOL...is your spring break coming up soon?

  2. Fabulous card, Kristina. I took one look at this sketch and said "not this week" LOL! Great DPs and I love the popped up tulips and bling you used. Simply gorgeous card. You're "mom" will love it!! I love that she is from The Netherlands - I lived there for a year when I worked with Billy Graham and just loved that country!
