Viva la Verve!

Happy Spring! It's a lovely day here... Low 70s. My next stop today is the chair out in the sun with my book. So excited! Spring was my big influence once again today for my Viva la Verve card. Well, spring, and this pretty apron from our walk through kitchens this month. Plus, I still had all those bright springy colors sitting out from my card last night. :)

Amber sure gave us a doosey of a sketch this week! Not one circle, but three circles and hanging off of vertical panels. Eek! I'm not sure if I'm completely happy with my card, but it's definitely not a flop, and I don't mind sharing it with you all.

I started with my Let it Shine set... Which I just realized is mislabeled!!! It's in a Big Wish package! And here I've been labeling my cards with this set Big Wish... cause that's what it said... But then I got to thinking that calling this set Big Wish didn't really make a whole lot of sense. A little investigating later, and I was right! hehe I stamped one of the sun images (which also makes a great flower!) onto Bitty Dots dp, colored a few petals with my copic marker to make it a bit darker, and popped them up. I also added a little glitter strip at the bottom of the green.

I'm off to friend's house this evening for a birthday barbecue. I'm bringing a corn, tomato, and avocado salad as my side dish. It's a Paula Dean recipe and soooo yummy! It will be good to spend time with good friends, and outdoors, too!

I hope your Saturday is full of blue skies and sunshine as well! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. ah, may I take my card down and use yours? LOL...silly girl...I like that your card was a ways down on the post...as I was reading the part about the sun being like flowers, I thought you had flipped the sketch 180...and made it into 3 flowers on stems....which now that I think about it would have been ingenius!!! I yelled a big "eek" when Amber sent me this one...and I don't even mind circles...my problems lie with too many layers and different shapes...:) Love these colours and that ribbon is gorgeous...enjoy your sunshine...it's trying to heat up more here....they promised 17 degrees (Celcius) but I'm sure it's not over 10 yet. But I went out to wash the car and tidy up the iris patch anyways...now I'm back in the studio for some card making with a latte :) Ahhhh...catch you later :)

  2. Beautiful work with this tricky sketch. I'm still pondering what to do with this one. Actually, I'm three sketches behind right now so I have my work cut out for me!! A two week Spring Break has not been good for my stamping time but the Zip Lin and a few of the other pavilions they left open after the Olympics were amazing. Love your colours and how you put the sentiment in the middle. Looky at that fabulous bow too :D

That side dish sounds DELICIOUS - you willing to share the recipe? Have a great evening enjoying good food and friends :D
