Viva la Verve!

Well, I survived my last day at work... Barely. I think yesterday has to be amongst the top 3 worst days of my life. How do you say goodbye to people that might as well be family? To a place that is a dream to work everyday, to a job that you are passionate about, to the kids and families that have embraced you over the years? What made it so horrible was that I had no control over the situation. There was nothing I could do to save my job, to stay there. I am so incredibly blessed to have worked at that school for the last four years, and amidst the flood of tears, I tried to take a quiet moment to simply sit in the dark of my empty classroom and say "thank you" to God for blessing me so enormously.

But, with the arrival of summer vacation (and unemployment), I have LOTS of time to stamp! See, there's a good side to everything. This week's twist for the Viva la Verve sketch challenge was to use something new on our cards. Easy peasy! Definitely a break after last week's triple-whammy doosey.

So, what did I use that was new?

  • New SU! Parisian Breeze dp

  • New Kraft taffeta ribbon

  • 2 previously uninked stamps
So much fun! I got my new SU order about two weeks ago and had yet to break into any of it, so this ended up being the perfect opportunity!

And speaking of summer vacation, can you believe the weather today? Here is L.A. it is gloomy, raining and only in the 60s! LOVE IT! My mom texted me a picture earlier and it's snowing at my home up north. Welcome summer, ha! But I will take the coolness as long as it lasts. It will be hotter than stink really soon.

Thanks for stopping by!
