Sweet Sunday Sketch #100

Good morning! It's back to work with me today, but that's alright. I'm actually kind of excited for today. My kids are going to be planting our classroom garden, and we're continuing our weather unit in science (and you know my little obsession with weather! LOL). Plus, a short week is always a great week.

It's time to celebrate sketch number 100 over at Karen Giron's blog. Sweet Sunday Sketch #100, that is. Incredible!! Of course, I had to play along. No excuses this week. I have had an absolute blast playing along since sketch #1, and am looking forward to 100 more!

I finally made it over to Michael's to pick up some doilies for my cards. I've seen these all over the place; definitely a hot trend right now. I had to join in on the fun! I stained the edges of every panel with my tea dye stains to tone down the bright colors. This little Love Birds set was calling my name once more (love the fact that there is a die for that birdcage!), and since Valentine's Day is coming up around the corner, it seemed appropriate for this card. Maybe I'll send it off to my sister. :)

Tonight the roomie and I are off to Taco Tuesday and Bible Study. We joined a new study last week and we're working our way through the book of Exodus. Love! One of my favorite parts of studying the Bible is learning the history and how that is not only relevant to the rest of scripture/history, but to our own lives. Seeing correlations between the words spoken in the OT and the NT always make me excited.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a lovely day!

  1. I love these little birdies too and they have yet to see ink!! Might have to change that this weekend (for the PTI blog hop next week..use something you haven't yet...easy for me!! lol). So glad you got some doilies, aren't they fun? I've been loving the silver ones lately too. I noticed you are reading the Happiness Project, how do you like it? I found out about a website through Ann Cox...so inspiring :) Let me know your thoughts. Have a great time planting!!! That makes me laugh too as we can't plant here until May!! LOL We are under icy snow right now :) hugs :)

  2. Great take on Karen's sketch. Love the birdcage and you used that doily wonderfully. I'm totally with you re: the OT. I'm teaching the Grade 5/6 Sunday School class and I love it! SO much to teach the kids about the OT linking to the NT! Get to do King David as Shepherd and King this Sunday and tied that into Christ being our Shepherd and King. Can't wait :) Enjoy planting and growing your garden - great idea :)
