Some Mojo Verve-y-ness

I'm killing two birds with one stone today. I've combined this week's Mojo Monday with the first Verve Release Challenge. I liked the Mojo Monday sketch this week, and knew I was going to have to find a nice big stamp to fill up that big image space. I immediately thought of my verse stamps... and this one in particular. Such a beautiful verse, isn't it? I hope that my words, heart, and actions are pleasing in God's sight.

It certainly was beautiful yesterday. We had a short little rain storm early in the morning and it tapered off around 10 a.m. It was just beautiful. The clouds rolled out and we were left with big, puffy clouds, the sun shining through them and glittering off of the rain that had fallen. The trees looked shimmery. God truly is the greatest artist! We even had some fun thunder and lightening around 5 o'clock in the morning. I think thunder and lightening may be my favorite kind of storm. I love night storms.... I just sit in my window and watch the world flash and rumble. At my parent's house, the lightening will silhouette the mountains and trees.... So stunning.

The first of five release challenges was to use chipboard on our cards. Little problem there... I don't own any chipboard! Ack! Thank goodness for blog friends and their amazing ideas. Thanks to my friend Maureen, I rescued a thinner cardboard box out of the recycle bin and used my SU! butterfly die to create my own chipboard! I covered it with dp, stained the edges, and added a button in the middle to give it a little more "oomph." To create the two-toned verse, I stamped in Old Olive and then sponged on Chocolate Chip. I'm really pleased with how this card turned out. I think it's actually better than the picture in my head, lol. Isn't it great when that happens?

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Have no fear, Kristina, you are in company here with someone else who doesn't own any chipboard LOL! I took a deep breath when I read the challenge and then hit the cereal cupboard for a cereal box to use instead. So nice to hear some else has never used it!

Your card is fabulous as always. Love the DP you used and the butterfly with the button is fabulous. I just love that verse too. Every time I read it I'm reminded of how we sung this verse at the campus ministry I attended. Hope to see you at the release party :D
